Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Hi bloggers!  Another demo card for the giveaway today, I hope you don't mind!  I started by embossing the iris card with the Rambling Blossoms embossing folder.  I cut a strip of white card and used a score board to add some linear texture to the lower half of the card.  I created a border between the two by cutting two of the Delicate Filigree Buckle bar die in black.  I decided to remove the buckles and just put them together as one continuous border, showing another way to use the die.  I added white flatback pearls to the design as accents.  For the focal element, I cut the Emma die in black and backed it with white and cut a frame in the centre.  I used the smaller die from the set to cut a decorative centre which I recessed down into the die (which had mounting foam added to the back).  I cut a Zoe die in white, backed it in white then cut it in half and added it to the two ends as accents.  I stamped my sentiment and cut it out with the oval from the Zoe set.  I embellished the focal element with a few small orange blossom open petals cut out of Iris card.  I added a white pierced mat, a thin black and iris card layer and a final white mat.  The finished dimensions are 7 1/2" x  8 1/2" in size.  Leave me a comment to be entered in the drawing for this one.  The winner will be announced on Saturday's blog post.  All for now, Sue x

Good afternoon Sue and the Wilsonettes,
This is a lovely card Sue in style and design, i'll just take the black out and change it for another colour, hey bit you know i have this love hate relationship with black. I hope that the very lucky recipient enjoys every tiny bit of it as it is pretty and different and not to over the top in decoration which might just suit a lot of our Wilsonettes that aren't into all the fancy frills and fluffy stuff for although you have decorated along the band with pearls and on the fancy tags it is still for a SUE WILSON, restrained. I love the iris coloured card and was so pleased when i seen it in real life as it was just as beautiful and bonnie a colour. I am thinking of getting some more of the card that you use as there is some colours that just take on a whole new look having the Sue treatment done to them.
Well i have been and got myself two new swimming suits as i'm going to learn to swim if it kills me trying. Mum was a champion swimmer and my brother Jim didn't know what the top of the water was as he just swam below it all the time. The frights that he would give Mum and then she would want to kill him for giving her such a fright. So learning to swim is on my bucket list of things to do, although at the moment i am really good at drowning and making friends with the bottom of the pool thus having to be rescued. When they give me one of those noodles , oh aye it keeps me up but my butt goes sticking up in the air as if it is the lightest part of my ample body and the head still is more interested in seeing the tiles on the bottom of the pool and other peoples feet. Hey ho i will keep trying though as i would love to be able to go into a pool and swim and not panic or the sea just like the rest of my lot. Rory is another Jim when it comes to swimming though as he loves under the water, where as me i was drowning in the baby pool. Never mind it will come i hope one of these days, have a good day everyone and sending hugs to Tracy that she may be that bit better today and all the other Wilsonettes that could do with one,
love and crafty hugs

Good afternoon lovely Sue and her crafty crew!

Oh Sue, you're almost apologetic for offering us an ex demo card, have you any idea just how tremendous every one of your cards are and any Wilsonette would be over the moon to win one in the weekly giveaway? Today's card is no exception, in fact it's stunning, the iris colour coupled with the black is just so striking that your eyes are immediately drawn to the design and the beautiful shapes of your Emma, Zoe and buckle bar dies. The orange blossom are very pretty in the iris colour and finish the card off beautifully but my favourite element has to be the gorgeous lace like buckle bar, it adds a feeling of decadence to the finished card. Thankyou Sue for another beautiful example of your talents and the chance to own it for real.xxx
Woke up to a little snow on the ground this morning, can't get my head around the weather at the moment, it's now sunny and dry which is always a bonus and really raises my spirits, long may it last! Is it just me or has this winter been painfully long and drawn out?
I've been having a lot of fits this week so I'm feeling slightly 'out of it' and dazed, it takes so long to recover physically and mentally that working has never been an option since my twenties:-( Retirement is something to look forward too as you plough through your working life and the chance to do so many new and old hobbies without any time constraints. Whilst I may have health issues I am grateful for the time that I have to spend with people I care about and doing things I love. But there is a big part of me that would have loved to have worked and contributed as such because it gives you a stronger self esteem I think. Crafting is my own way of contributing still and it can bring a lot of happiness and satisfaction....wouldn't it be a dream to do what Sue does, getting paid to craft, only problem being that you have to possess her talent and brilliance and I can't claim to have either:-)
We have a few buddies feeling under the weather just now,
Lorraine, I hope everything goes ok for you tomorrow and that you are feeling well
Yvonne, my love, so sorry that the flu bug is back with a vengeance , it can be a nasty little so and so to shift.....though the timing of its return is somewhat suspicious, what did I say about hangovers taking a week to work through your system at our age?:-)
Jan, oh dear, that sounds nasty! Glad you're feeling better now though, on the plus side, did you lose any weight?:-)
Wheely Bad, hope your migraines haven't resurfaced and that Billy is looking after his mummy
Linda, how are you feeling with the reduction in meds?
Tracy, not long to go now honey, good luck to your friend Alice tooxxxx
And on a happy note P, I got my funding through today for my respite, it's just a pity that the rules have changed and you can't go abroad...do you think if I plead my cause and tell them that it's imperative given the toll having SAD has on my mental well being?:-)
Cuddles to Beth, Pam, deb c, Saba, Rebecca,Melody and Maria as well as anyone in need of a hugxxx

Love and crafty hugs

Hi Sue. My buckle bar is still in the package, once I get my need to craft head back, it's the first of my new dies I intend to play with as it always looks so pretty.
after being gridlocked on the M62 to Yorkshire yesterday for what felt like days I couldn't even think about stopping off to go pay homage at all your dies etc at the craft store, I just needed to get to my girls for hugs and a hot coffee ! 'My keeper' has actually said that he's made a note of the fact that I drove straight on as it's just so unbelievable lol.
I really loved this demo card so it's lovely to see it again Sue, why should we mind for goodness sake ? Don't be daft lol.
